Joseph Sopher was a son of Joseph & Catherine Sopher. He married (1) Phebe, who moved with him to Westland in 1814 and then died circa 1826. He then married Sarah Wayts. When he and Sarah were planning to move to Indiana, he gave up his membership at Providence.
