Short Creek MM (Gurneyite) had a complicated history. At the time of the 1854 division, the Gurneyites had total control of Mount Pleasant and West Grove PMs, and they sustained small PMs at Harrisville, Short Creek, and Concord. The PMs at Concord and Short Creek were laid down in 1863, followed by Harrisville in 1872. The two larger meetings managed to thrive in the late nineteenth century. Mount Pleasant was set off as a separate MM in 1917, leaving West Grove as the sole meeting in Short Creek MM (G). In 1947, Short Creek MM (G) disappeared when worship at West Grove was laid down.
