Amos E. Kimberly was the son of Wolaston and Elizabeth (English) Kimberly. He married (1) Jane of Marlborough MM in 1815; she died in 1841. Amos held several important positions among Friends in the early to mid 19th century, but became disruptive and was disowned in 1842. He later moved to Iowa and remarried to Ellen Butler, who had been disowned by Upper Springfield MM. Amos and Ellen were allowed to return to membership among Friends in 1853, but the very next year they joined the Gurneyites. Amos died on 12/20/1860 (EAQG 7:152). His widow remarried to Isaac Child in 1869, and she died in 1879.
