Henry Mills joined Friends at Hopewell in 1782. During his membership there, he married Elizabeth John and served as an overseer of Middle Creek Meeting. He and Elizabeth had their membership transferred to Westland in 1787; during their move to Washington County, Pennsylvania, their daughter Mary Mills (listed on their certificate from Hopewell) died.
Westland MM recognized Mills as a minister in 1799. In late 1815, Mills brought a paper to the MM in which he condemned his excessive use of alcohol and his unguarded language. It is unclear if his behavior was becoming erratic at that time, but Redstone QM of Ministers & Elders vacated his recognition of ministry in mid-1816.
In early 1817, Mills stopped paying his debts and moved away, after which Westland terminated his membership. He died circa 1829.
