Deborah McGrew's early years are difficult to ascertain. She could have been a daughter of Joseph & Deborah Blackburn, in which case her marriage to Samuel McGrew would have been in 1797 (MCD in Redstone MM). An entry at Ancestry.com, however, has that Deborah McGrew as the daughter of James & Elizabeth Blackburn; the disadvantage of this option is that this family's memberships were never transferred to Redstone QM.
Deborah McGrew was occasionally appointed to committees at Providence. She most frequently served on committees to nominate Friends to serve as clerk or overseer and to represent the MM at Redstone QM.
