Plainfield MM (H) included Hicksites living in central Belmont County, Ohio. The MM had the largest proportion of Hicksites in any MM in Ohio YM. The MM was a defendant in a lawsuit brought by an Orthodox Friend seeking to bar Hicksites from using the pre-division meeting houses. The Goshen Meeting just east of Stillwater was laid down in 1867, followed by the Clairsville Meeting (St. Clairsville) in 1877. Thereafter, with Plainfield being the single PM surviving in the MM, the meeting entered into joint session. The Plainfield FMH was "reduced" to a one-story, three-bay building. The MM was last held in 1902.
