This meeting was the center of the Otis faction of Primitive Friends in eastern Ohio. It was Primitive beginning in 1863. Ohio GM formed an MM here in 1865. When Ohio GM broke fellowship with Fallsington GM, Daniel Koll recommended that the MM shift affiliation to Fallsington, resulting in the group earning the local nickname of Kollites. The shift maintained the tie with other Otis Primitive bodies nationwide. As time passed, other Ohio Primitives joined to be part of the Otis Primitive world, followed by the Otisites in Iowa. When the MM was laid down, the members were attached to Fallsington. |
