Chattahoochee Meeting is located in Georgia. It meets in a historic schoolhouse located at 3980 Florida Avenue, Norcross, Georgia, that was donated to the meeting in exchange for its maintenance.
The meeting was formed circa 2006. An earlier group had been formed circa 2000 that was associated with the meeting in Atlanta (affiliated with FGC). Though this earlier group had been formed as a result of a concern by Scott King, a Christian Friend, the earlier meeting was not specifically Christian. Around 2006, the original group divided, with most Christians forming an independent meeting that took the name of Chattahoochee and soon thereafter affiliating with Ohio YM through Rockingham MM.
In Third Month 2009, Chattahoochee Friends assumed ownership of the Mechanicsville School House in Norcross, Georgia. The schoolhouse is located northeast of Atlanta.
Chattahoochee Friends applied for monthly meeting status in 2011. Stillwater QM appointed a committee to visit them; the committee is scheduled to report back to the QM in Tenth Month 2011.
The meeting was renamed Peachtree in 2017. |
