New Garden QM was located in southern Columbiana County, Ohio. Ohio YM partitioned the large, sprawling Salem QM in 1824, with the large New Garden MM and the slightly smaller Sandy Spring and Carmel MMs forming New Garden QM. The QM divided in 1828, at which time New Garden MM was majority Hicksite but the other two MMs were majority Orthodox. In 1836, Ohio YM decided to adjust the organization of the QMs for the purposes of parity. As a result, New Garden QM was laid down, with Sandy Spring attached to the new Springfield QM and New Garden and Carmel MMs re-attached to Salem QM.
