History Hoyle served as Clerk for six years in the mid-1870s. The meeting was weak during these years, partially due to the loss of select members who were not being replaced. Edmund Bailey and his wife Margaret both died in 1873, and after two additional select members at Ridge died in 1877, only Eunice Thomasson was left in the select meeting at Ridge. The select QM attached the select PM at Ridge to the select PM at Stillwater in 1877.
During Hoyle's term as Clerk, the following Friends from Stillwater were recognized as Elders: Rebecca Cowgill (1875), Aaron Frame (1877), and Joseph Cowgill (1878). |
