During Smith's clerkship, the select YM met twice during YM week. At its first session on Seventh Day, the Representatives from the select QMs were called. Next, travelling minutes brought by Friends from Philadelphia YM were read. There were 22 such minutes during Smith's clerkship, over twice the average during earlier years. Query answers from the select QMs were read. At the second session on Second Day morning at 8 a.m., a prominent Friend gave a report on behalf of the QM Representatives, recommending a Friend to serve as Clerk. Last, YM summaries to the Queries were approved. |
