By the time of Bailey's clerkship, the YM of M&E had settled into a routine that it rarely varied from. It met twice during YM week. At its first session, the select QM Representatives were called and visitors from Philadelphia YM with travelling minutes were recognized. The query answers from the select QMs were read. The select YM then met at 8:00 a.m. on Second Day. At this time, a prominent Friend would give the report of the QM Representatives recommending a Clerk for the following year and the YM summaries to the queries were approved. |
