Jonathan Binns was a leading Elder in Ohio YM in the early 20th century. He was a nephew of the Jonathan Binns who was the first Clerk of the Gurneyite YM in Ohio.
Binns, who worshipped at Harrisville/Short Creek, became a leading Elder partially through the mentoring effort of John W. Smith, who had been the leading Elder in Ohio YM in the very late 1800s. Binns served in many roles among Friends, the most prominent of which were Clerk of the Ohio Meeting for Sufferings and Clerk of the Ohio Men's YM.
Three of Binns' children served Clerk or Assistant Clerk of Ohio YM.
