William Patterson was one of several men with that name who moved from North Carolina to Ohio in the very early 19th century. He requested a certificate from Jack Swamp MM in 1805. The MM minutes do not indicate that the certificate was granted, and the Short Creek MM records do not indicate the receipt of the certificate.
