Obituary in The Friend, 3/22/1884:
"Died, 1st month 24th, 1884, at his residence near Chesterfield, Morgan Co., Ohio, Burwell Peebles, in the 79th year of his age, a member of Chesterfield Monthly and Particular Meeting. He was firmly attached to the principles and testimonies of the Society of Friends. This dear Friend bore a long affliction with Christian fortitude and submission, and a comfortable hope is entertained, that through redeeming love and mercy he has been permitted to enter one of those mansions prepared for the people of God."
