George Michener was a locally renowned medical doctor in the Chesterfield community.
His parents Daniel and Anna Michener attended Guernsey Meeting during GM's childhood.GM was one of the first teachers at the Mount Pleasant Boarding School.
He and his wife Rebecca moved to Hickory Grove in 1863.
