Burton Doudna was appointed Clerk of the QM for M&O in 2011. The committee to recommend Clerks actually recommended a team of three people who would rotate as Clerk. Burton stated during the discernment period that he had a special time of prayer about the rightness of his service as Clerk. Jack Smith recommended that based on Burton's prayer that the idea of having three Clerks should be laid aside and recommended that Burton be appointed. The body agreed. |
